“The new LBD”

Hi guys!  This weekend I am out celebrating my bestie’s bachelorette party along with my girlfriends in San Diego.  We planned to wear LBDs aka the “little black dress” one night and I immediately went into panic mode because believe it or not, I don’t even own an LBD! Shocker?!  Yes, I know.  The closest thing I have to an LBD is a dark navy (almost black but not quite), slinky number by Elizabeth and James.  It COULD pass for a little black dress, but I felt like I was cheating myself.  Haha!  I browsed through my closet again and my eyes immediately went straight to my black romper. Yes, a romper. Chic, fierce, and sassy –  it was the perfect thing to wear for a GNO (girls’ night out)! This romper from C/MEO Collective is playfully elegant, even down to the fabric.  My favorite part is the notched bodice; it’s flirty and sexy without looking overdone.  The peplum waist adds detail and body to the romper which gives me more of a flattering shape.  I’ve been holding on to this romper for a while and was waiting for the right occasion to wear it.  I guess you could say that it’s the romper that saved me. 🙂

The lapel on this beauty makes such a statement so I thought I’d keep it simple with bold earrings and dainty rings.  Strappy heels because no GNO outfit is complete without them and a bold, red lip for extra sass!

Little black rompers are just as essential as little black dresses for your closet. This is the perfect go to romper for any of your party needs and mine saved me from my fashion dilemma.  My little black romper is my new LBD.

Be right back guys!  Time to get back to our bachelorette party shenanigans.  Happy Friday and hope you guys have a great weekend! XO ❤

“Fringe benefits in the summer”

Hi guys!  It’s been a while since my last post and I must say that it feels good to be back! Summer’s been keeping me occupied with plans left and right and now I can finally wind down a little before the end of the month for my bestie’s bachelorette party!  Yay!  I am looking forward to this little getaway and I can’t wait to show you my little “GNO” (Girls Night Out) outfit, so please stay tuned for that!

But for now, can we talk about camel suede?  Fringe?  Camel suede AND fringe?  Could these two possibly be the best combination ever?  Ok.  Maybe not the best, but this is definitely in my top five!

I remember the first time I fell in love with fringe: Mia Sara AKA Sloane Peterson from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off wore this white leather fringe jacket with shorts and boots.  “OH YEAH.”  I wish I looked THAT good while I playing hooky. Man, Sloane was the coolest and I wanted to be just like her!

Suede.  There’s not much I can say about suede, but the look and feel of it just screams luxurious.  I bought my first suede jacket in high school and I wore that thing loud and proud when I posed for my “Best Dressed” yearbook photo (#tbt photo upon request). I thought I was so cool and walked down the hallways like it was my runway. #truestory

Given that it is summer and the temperatures have been high, I opted for a vest instead of a jacket for this look.  Camel suede looks amazing against white so I wore this off the shoulder top underneath.  By now you should know that I love to recycle my old pieces, so I gave my old denim Levi’s maxi that I’ve had since high school a makeover and ended up with a destroyed mini.  With a few snips and a few rips here and there, I was able to turn my boring ol’ maxi into a cute mini skirt!  I wore my favorite leopard booties and some classic aviators to complete the outfit.  It was a treat shooting this look because fringe sways while you walk and I love that added drama!  Talk about fringe benefits! ❤
