“Olive you so much.”

There’s one color that I can’t get enough of:  Olive green.  This shade looks good on everybody and looks good in pretty much everything.  Instead of the popular olive bomber jacket we’ve seen everywhere, I opted for something lightweight to tackle Spring temperatures and can be used in the Summer as well:  an olive-green chambray button down.  I’ve gone through a few of these over the years and have worn them over maxi dresses, denim, shorts…you name it.  All you have to do is throw it on to anchor an outfit.  I did a little pop of color with an orange cami because it goes with khaki tones so well.  Since the pieces I have on are a bit on the baggy side, I decided to wear heels for added height (balance is key, ladies!).  And as far as my accessories go, leopard and stripes go hand in hand here (yes, you can mix patterns as long as the colors match!).  Lastly, can’t have a My Style and Grace outfit without sunglasses and these mirrored lovelies are everything.  To my go to shirt this season: Olive you so much ❤

“Sparkling Holiday”

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!  It’s been hectic around here, but amidst all the craziness, I am thankful that I have spent it with my loved ones and I hope that you did as well.  🙂

Now on to the next holiday – NYE.  Here’s a couple of NYE looks with a little help from my beautiful and fellow blogger, Monica from LivinginVogue.  Sparkles and sequins go hand in hand with NYE, so here we are in our party-ready ensembles!

This sequin mini skirt paired with a cozy turtleneck sweater is a perfect combination for a less than formal affair.  My love for a good ol’ denim jacket is undeniable so I decided to throw it on for a little casualness.  Yes, it is unexpected, but it works for a street-chic look which is my personal favorite.  For added interest, I wore over the knee socks with heels because I am currently obsessed with this cool combo lately!  Layer with a scarf or a beanie for extra warmth and voila!  NYE ready for those swanky parties.

It’s been a great year, but I’m ready to welcome 2016.  Who’s with me?!  Cheers to all and thank you for following along.  I appreciate you guys so much! ❤

“Fancy Pants.”

Leather skinnies are always a hit in every cool girls’ wardrobe, but right now, my season favorite is the leather jogger.  Low-slung and slouchy, (just like boyfriend jeans) it’s very menswear chic and completely desirable – these beauties are a combination of androgyny and comfort.  YAS!  No wonder the sweatpants trend is socially-acceptable as streetwear these days.  Whether dressed up with pointy pumps or dressed down with flats or sneakers, this comfy trend will keep you looking chic when paired with the right pieces!  I wanted to keep the “tomboy, but girly” look flow going, so I wore a baggy sheer paneled shirt with a racerback bralette.  Tip for wearing a sheer top: If possible, wear something in a color that either creates contrast or complements the color of your sheer top. This way, your undergarment will look like an intentional part of the outfit. 🙂

Hope you guys are having a fabulous Monday and remember to be amazing today!  My fancy pants and I are ready to take on the world, but first, coffee. ❤

“How to pull off a leather skirt (without looking like a…)”

A leather skirt by itself is innately sexy.  Don’t get me wrong, looking sexy isn’t a bad thing, but even with the longer hems of that leather skirt, it can be read as “skanky” if you’re not careful!  When wearing such a bold piece, it is crucial for me to balance it out by keeping the top part modest with loose silhouettes, especially if you are going to wear heels. Balance is key, ladies!  If heels aren’t your thing, you can wear it with booties or flats instead and swap out that loose shirt with a fitted top.  Uh, huh.  That’s right.  Balance is key, ladies!!! (three snaps in a “Z” formation!)

I love the contrast of black and white together so I paired this leather peplum skirt with just a plain ‘ol white tee.  I also love a pop of color, so I decided to play it up with a colorful clutch which also happens to match my bold lips!  Winning!  For my signature “sunnies with every outfit” look, I wore oversized frames to keep it classy and finished my ensemble with fun laced up heels – very downtown cool AND modest. ❤

“Street Chic”

Stylish sneakers everywhere have made it into people’s everyday looks and I am not mad about it!  Sneakers are known for its laid-back reputation, but this sporty staple are front and center in my wardrobe!  They are versatile, comfortable, and easy to wear.  They are not just made for the gym anymore, but rather a chic and low-key addition to any style outfit.  The way I style my sneakers is to look less “done” but screams “street chic” and not sloppy.  I styled my New Balance sneakers (can you see the gingham detail on the back? SUPER CUTE!) with my comfortable leather leggings.  I also wanted to add more color for contrast, so I chose this olive-colored, oversized silk blouse.  And my bag?  It is vintage Gucci which also doubles as a clutch.  Talk about functional!

The weekend is almost here!  Give your feet a break, kick off those heels and slip on a pair of sneakers today.  They are casual, cool and with a pop of color, it will make your outfit youthful and fun. ❤
