“Shoe game strong.”

Hi all!  I hope everybody had a wonderful Easter last weekend!  I celebrated Easter Sunday as well as my sister’s birthday up in Tahoe with our closest friends and we had a blast!  We played in the snow (brrr…), hung out by the lake, did a little hike…it was the perfect weekend!  Now it’s back to reality, folks.  It’s the first of the month (Hello, April!) and it’s the weekend once more.  Time sure flies.

Anyways, let’s get down to business, shall we?  Are you looking to boost your shoe game up?  Do you ever get bored wearing the same ‘ol boring shoes over and over? Undeniably a yes for me, until I discovered sheer socks.  This is an offbeat shoe-styling trick that for sure stepped up my shoe game ultimately.  If you’re a little unsure, play it safe and stick with neutrals.  As for me, I love print so I went with sheer polka dots!  So fun!  I’m wearing a little slip dress here (subtle, but sexy!) with a structured blazer. My metallic oxfords are rather flashy and I feel that the black blazer along with the matching black socks sets the tone down a bit.   Chic and cool AF!  Give it a try if you’re feeling fashionably adventurous!

Have a great weekend, everyone!  XO ❤

“Converse goes chic.”

I love wearing heels.  They give the illusion of mile-long legs and make your calves look better, but let’s be honest; when they say “beauty is pain” I feel it is completely unnecessary.  Sometimes, I would rather ditch my stilettos and be comfortable in my sneakers.

Fortunately, designers everywhere such as Isabel Marant, have fallen in love with sneakers.  From celebrities to style stars, everyone seems to be flipping for sneakers these days and have mastered the art of dressing them up.  Why? Because they are so easy to pair with anything.  Literally almost everything!

Here are some ways to rock the sneaker look when you don’t feel like putting on a pair of heels, but need to look presentable.

  • fancy outfit + fancy sneakers = Chanel’s Haute Couture Collection last year is the perfect example for this.  Your evening outfit can be paired with a fancier sneaker with leather, calf hair, or even lace!
  • pair it with something unexpected…how about that tulle skirt that is usually always paired with pumps?  Switch it up and give it a try!
  • turn a super feminine and ladylike look into sporty chic.  The slip-on sneakers go really well with this look.
  • pop of color with a pair of bright-colored sneakers.  Imagine wearing an “all white everything” with a cobalt blue pair.  Ooh.  So good.

Last but not the least, my fave…(drum roll please!)

  • high tops with that mini dress.  So simple and yet so sexy, pair that mini dress of yours with sneakers!  Ladies, trust.  I love this combination personally because a mini dress WITH heels is a little too sexy for me – I’m not that brave and I just can’t do it!  Haha!  Balance is key for me and if I feel that it’s showing a little too much, then I just add-on something to tame it down a little.

Speaking of high tops and that mini dress, here is how I styled this sexy Feature mini dress dressed down with my Converse high-tops.  Chances are you own a pair too (high-top or low) so you might want to try this out for a playful, boy-meets-girl contrast.  I just threw on a boyfriend blazer for layering and sunnies of course.  I just love this look! When Converse goes chic, I am all about it. ❤

“Will you be my Valentine?”

We are almost halfway through February and Valentine’s day is just around the corner.  Love is in the air and so are the reds, pinks and floral prints in my wardrobe!  Is it weird to fall in love with an outfit?  Because this look has got me hooked and I am in love!

Nothing says romantic and flirty like a floral maxi dress.  I picked up this red beauty in the early fall months (when it was still warm) and wore it constantly! I have always been a fan of floral prints and maxi dresses and I just fell in love when I saw my two favorite things in one amazing piece!  I love the colors of the flowers and check out the periwinkle-colored leaves! So pretty! The mixing of colors were unexpected and compliments the red very well.  This beautiful dress is airy and flows well while you are walking that it almost looks like you are floating!    And the open back detail?  I can’t even!  It gives a subtle sexiness without showing too much skin.  This is by far my favorite dress and I try to wear it throughout all seasons.  I simply wore a leather jacket over it as a warm layer (it’s still winter in California) and my black mules.  The only accessories I added here are my sunnies (a must for me) and the simple elegance of crossbody bag in a bright shade.  Don’t you just love the pop of neon against the red fabric?  I love putting things together that are unexpected!

Romantic outfit with a little edge for Valentine’s day?  I heart it.  ❤

“Mix it up”

Happy Friday everyone!  I wanted to share a casual Friday look with you today by mixing prints and doing a little pattern play!  I like to experiment with different textures and prints when styling my wardrobe because I think it’s fun and exciting!  The one thing that I always try to remember is to match the colors and NOT the patterns.  If you dare to try print on print (for starters) , I would suggest trying monochromatic stripes first because I think they count as solid colors.  Leopard print is a neutral (my personal fave) and it is also a good option to start with!  So easy and you can’t go wrong!  I hope these simple rules will get you guys started and maybe one day you will dare to go for a more bolder look! 🙂  Have fun mixing it up!

Fridays are all about being casual for me, perfect for kicking off the weekend ahead.  I like to dress down, but still look polished and effortless.  This printed shirt dress (and how cute is the bow?) is so versatile and can be styled in many ways!  I am wearing my Senso leopard booties (remember the matching of colors?) because I think brown tones compliment blue hues quite well.  I accessorized this look with a simple black backpack and my favorite Rayban sunnies!  Chic and weekend ready! ❤

“Pass the hat”

Happy Thursday everyone!  It is almost the weekend and I am looking forward to it!  I wanted to share with you one of my favorite looks and I hope you like it.  🙂

A hat is one of my favorite accessories and I am always on a hunt for more to add to my growing collection! It is perfect when you are having a bad hair day or you simply want to take that simple outfit to the next level.  I found this gorgeous hat at Madewell and I was surprised on how it actually fit my tiny head because most hats are huge on me!  The ribbon detail adds a little character which I love!

I dressed my black lace slip (any simple LBD will do!) and warmed it up with a rich autumn hued, oversized sweater (obsessed with anything berry right now).  To anchor the look, I chose my Senso leopard booties because I love a leopard accent with anything!  It just makes any outfit perk up and to me, it’s all about having fun!

Sometimes during California winters, I just want to be able to wish the chill away, but I have grown to embrace the lower temperatures with some chic styling but keeping it cozy at the same time.  And to make my simplest looks stand out, I just top it off with a hat! ❤
