“How do I wear bralette crop tops? Come see!”

Hey guys!  I’m back with an outfit post finally!  Woo hoo!

Summer is here and the heat is on!  Crop tops have been a major summer staple for a while now.  If you have rocked this look, then you’re most likely going to like the bralette/crop top combo like the one I’m wearing here.  When I tried this top on, I fell in love with it, but didn’t have the guts to wear it by itself.  I just thought that it was a little too daring for me, so my denim jacket came to the rescue!  Problem solved. Layering it with any piece of outerwear will give your outfit a more relaxed, but subtle sexy look.  Balance plays a major role on how to wear a bralette crop top:  Opt for something high-waisted (pants, skirt, shorts) to make it look less risqué.  I like when a bit of skin is showing and most of the mid drift is covered.  Classy is key!

Many of you know about the Nordstrom anniversary sale that’s going on now. Guess what?  This top just went on sale!  Grab it while it’s hot!  Happy shopping ❤

“My everyday (foolproof) outfit formula”

Hey all!  I’m back with a new outfit post!  I’ve suffered from really bad migraines lately, so it’s been a little difficult to write new content.  I’m pleased to say that I’m feeling okay today and hoping not to relapse.  Migraines are no fun!

On a lighter note, it’s Father’s day today!  Many of you are probably going out to brunch this morning and could use an outfit inspiration.  I love a simple and casual “brunch” outfit without looking overdone.  I have an outfit formula that (and I swear by this) is easy and efficient.

Here is the foolproof equation:

  • One basic – Basics to me are closet staples: plain tees, jeans or a skirt, slip dresses etc.  In this outfit, the slip dress is the basic piece.
  • One interest/statement piece – Anything that has color, textures or patterns.  The slip dress also falls in this category because of the metallic, shimmery material.
  • One completer – This could be a jacket or sweater.  My jean jacket and I go hand in hand per usual and instead of wearing it, I tied it around my waist for added depth.  Since it’s warm now (hello summer!), you could do a statement accessory like a scarf, hat, belt.
  • Accessories – These are pieces that you don’t normally leave the house without.  I”m talking, purses, jewelry, shoes and sunglasses.  My backpack and shoes anchor the outfit and of course, sunglasses.  If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know that no My Style and Grace outfit isn’t complete without my sunnies!

I hope you will use this formula to create outfits that are fun and interesting!  If you do, please feel free to share and tag me!  Happy Sunday ❤

“Shoe game strong.”

Hi all!  I hope everybody had a wonderful Easter last weekend!  I celebrated Easter Sunday as well as my sister’s birthday up in Tahoe with our closest friends and we had a blast!  We played in the snow (brrr…), hung out by the lake, did a little hike…it was the perfect weekend!  Now it’s back to reality, folks.  It’s the first of the month (Hello, April!) and it’s the weekend once more.  Time sure flies.

Anyways, let’s get down to business, shall we?  Are you looking to boost your shoe game up?  Do you ever get bored wearing the same ‘ol boring shoes over and over? Undeniably a yes for me, until I discovered sheer socks.  This is an offbeat shoe-styling trick that for sure stepped up my shoe game ultimately.  If you’re a little unsure, play it safe and stick with neutrals.  As for me, I love print so I went with sheer polka dots!  So fun!  I’m wearing a little slip dress here (subtle, but sexy!) with a structured blazer. My metallic oxfords are rather flashy and I feel that the black blazer along with the matching black socks sets the tone down a bit.   Chic and cool AF!  Give it a try if you’re feeling fashionably adventurous!

Have a great weekend, everyone!  XO ❤

“Neutrals are your friend.”

I’ve always been big on neutrals.  I love the subtleness and the flexibility on being able to interchange several pieces – it ALWAYS works.  It also looks luxurious without looking over the top.  With a simple grey tee from Kit & Ace to start with, (which by the way, the softest shirt I have ever owned. Thanks Kit & Ace!) I was able to build this look by piling more neutrals on top.  The best part is, you can add ANY color from a neutral palette and it simply works.  It’s definitely a no brainer!  If you want to stick with just one color, that’s ok too!  Tip: Just make sure you try mixing different textures and layers to break up the silhouette.  So easy, right?!  Neutrals for the win! ❤

“Sparkling Holiday”

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!  It’s been hectic around here, but amidst all the craziness, I am thankful that I have spent it with my loved ones and I hope that you did as well.  🙂

Now on to the next holiday – NYE.  Here’s a couple of NYE looks with a little help from my beautiful and fellow blogger, Monica from LivinginVogue.  Sparkles and sequins go hand in hand with NYE, so here we are in our party-ready ensembles!

This sequin mini skirt paired with a cozy turtleneck sweater is a perfect combination for a less than formal affair.  My love for a good ol’ denim jacket is undeniable so I decided to throw it on for a little casualness.  Yes, it is unexpected, but it works for a street-chic look which is my personal favorite.  For added interest, I wore over the knee socks with heels because I am currently obsessed with this cool combo lately!  Layer with a scarf or a beanie for extra warmth and voila!  NYE ready for those swanky parties.

It’s been a great year, but I’m ready to welcome 2016.  Who’s with me?!  Cheers to all and thank you for following along.  I appreciate you guys so much! ❤

“Coat check.”

Ok, I have a confession: The real reason why I love Fall is not because of the pumpkin spiced lattes and pretty foliage everywhere – it’s the FASHION!  Cozy knits, beanies, scarves…what’s not to love?!  Right now, I’m loving printed coats and they get me super pumped for fall.  I’ve been on a hunt for something not too light, nor too heavy, but enough to keep me warm during chilly temperatures.  So guess what?  I found one!  This statement coat is the punctuation to any classic wardrobe.  I kept it simple with the basics: a silk cami and leather skinnies (my other choice would’ve been jeans and a tee).  A basic look plus a great coat is my go to this season.  It’s foolproof!  I added a little bit of shine with gold, mirrored sunnies and metallic shoes.  And of course, a bandana scarf because everything looks better with a cute scarf on top. ❤

“Converse goes chic.”

I love wearing heels.  They give the illusion of mile-long legs and make your calves look better, but let’s be honest; when they say “beauty is pain” I feel it is completely unnecessary.  Sometimes, I would rather ditch my stilettos and be comfortable in my sneakers.

Fortunately, designers everywhere such as Isabel Marant, have fallen in love with sneakers.  From celebrities to style stars, everyone seems to be flipping for sneakers these days and have mastered the art of dressing them up.  Why? Because they are so easy to pair with anything.  Literally almost everything!

Here are some ways to rock the sneaker look when you don’t feel like putting on a pair of heels, but need to look presentable.

  • fancy outfit + fancy sneakers = Chanel’s Haute Couture Collection last year is the perfect example for this.  Your evening outfit can be paired with a fancier sneaker with leather, calf hair, or even lace!
  • pair it with something unexpected…how about that tulle skirt that is usually always paired with pumps?  Switch it up and give it a try!
  • turn a super feminine and ladylike look into sporty chic.  The slip-on sneakers go really well with this look.
  • pop of color with a pair of bright-colored sneakers.  Imagine wearing an “all white everything” with a cobalt blue pair.  Ooh.  So good.

Last but not the least, my fave…(drum roll please!)

  • high tops with that mini dress.  So simple and yet so sexy, pair that mini dress of yours with sneakers!  Ladies, trust.  I love this combination personally because a mini dress WITH heels is a little too sexy for me – I’m not that brave and I just can’t do it!  Haha!  Balance is key for me and if I feel that it’s showing a little too much, then I just add-on something to tame it down a little.

Speaking of high tops and that mini dress, here is how I styled this sexy Feature mini dress dressed down with my Converse high-tops.  Chances are you own a pair too (high-top or low) so you might want to try this out for a playful, boy-meets-girl contrast.  I just threw on a boyfriend blazer for layering and sunnies of course.  I just love this look! When Converse goes chic, I am all about it. ❤

“Yes to matchy-matchy!”

Own a pair of co-ordinating sets?  Let’s face it, you really can’t get a cuter combo than a matching set.  My favorite thing about owning co-ords is the versatility.  It is a great way to do separates and show different styling options.  For some people, this “matchy-matchy” style may seem a bit much, but you can break up this bold look by showing a little bit of skin.  Crop tops paired with a high waisted bottom make a gorgeously cohesive and chic look!

I am crushin’ hard on Feature Clothing‘s co-ords set!  Two pieces aren’t just for the beach anymore, and this luxe matching set is on my must-haves list this season!  The simplicity of the white is so fresh and I love the diagonal layout of the stripes on the skirt (flattering, ladies!).  You can create multiple looks with this combo by wearing a different top with the skirt and vice versa.  I wanted to show off the two pieces together, so I just added a jean jacket over the crop top for a little attitude and red pumps for a pop of color and glam!  For accessories, I did gold accents and these fabulous sunnies by Valley Eyewear which by the way are SO FAB, don’t even get me started!

Get co-ordinating ladies because matchy-matchy is just so cool. ❤

“My Sporty Remix”

I love a sporty look.  If I could dress like Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls all day, I would, but I also don’t want people to think that I am at the gym 24/7 (haha).  I started incorporating sporty pieces in a different way and calling it “My Sporty Remix”.  The juxtaposition of something sporty and something prim and dainty feels fresh to me.     My Adidas track jacket is what I’m showcasing for today’s sporty remix.  I’ve always loved the classic version of this jacket and I love how Adidas played around and added beautiful prints on this iconic piece.  This track jacket is beautiful in person (I think we can all agree!) and I love the softness of the colors altogether.  I started off with my basics: a silk camisole, denim cutoffs, traded my trainers for heeled sandals then I threw on the track jacket to up the ante.  Minimal + sporty = tomboy chic.  This street savvy look is my favorite because it is effortlessly styled and unexpected.  Also, don’t be afraid to experiment with your layers; you never know what style combinations you’ll love! ❤

“Walking billboard”

Hi guys!  I hope you didn’t miss me too much since my last post.  I’ve been quite a busy bee the past few weeks and now I am back and ready to roll!  I can’t wait to update you all with new and exciting things that are happening with My Style and Grace, but first I still would like to let you know that your patience is appreciated.  Thank you! 🙂

I am a walking billboard on today’s blog post wearing a tee from the Le Motto collection.  Le Motto’s purpose is to spread and promote positivity with words.  Not only do they share good messages with their tees, but they also donate some of the profits from the purchases to causes that help children who are suffering from unfortunate and violent circumstances.  Vaiana, the beautiful person behind Le Motto was kind enough and gifted me a shirt from their collection.  Please take the time to read her story here.

I picked the “Keep up. Don’t give up.” tee because never giving up has taught me the value of perseverance.  Today, I would like to remind you not to give up at the first sign of struggle but instead, pick yourself back up and keep standing.  You only fail when you stop trying, so don’t give up! ❤

I styled their tee with a pair of black skorts from Feature Clothing, a men’s camo jacket that I scored from ASOS a while back, and kept it classic with a pair of good ol’ Chuck Taylor’s.
